More about OYEA
The Outstanding Youth in Education Award scheme was announced by Mr David T E Lim, then-Chairman of the National Youth Council (NYC), on 27 February 1999.
The Award gives national recognition to the role young teachers play in moulding the future of our nation. NYC is the secretariat for the OYEA Selection Panel and is assisted by the Teachers' Network, Ministry of Education.
It seeks to recognise excellent young teachers for their youthful idealism, enthusiasm, energy and active involvement in the development of youth beyond the formal curriculum.
Besides receiving a trophy and a citation certificate, recipients of the OYEA will also be fully sponsored to attend an overseas conference relevant to their professional development.
